Transport and Storage of Lithium-ion Batteries

Storage and transport containers

Certified storage and transport containers for lithium-ion batteries

Lithium-ion batteries are classified as Class 9 dangerous goods under the ADR and are subject to particularly stringent safety requirements, especially during operation and transport. The risk of thermal runaway is extremely high, particularly in the case of defective, damaged or critical batteries (in accordance with ADR special provisions SV 376 and SV 377). Without approved containment vessels, there is a risk of uncontrollable fires, explosions and toxic gases in the event of an emergency.

Our tested and UN-certified container systems offer businesses in the skilled trades, industry and logistics sectors a reliable safety solution for day-to-day work and mobile use. As there is still no clear legislation governing the storage of lithium-ion batteries, the strict requirements of the regulations on dangerous goods and those of property insurers (VdS) apply during operation. LaCont storage and transport containers help you safeguard your business and protect your staff. Whether for collecting used batteries, shipping prototypes or the safe, isolated storage of damaged batteries, our products meet the highest safety standards.
